Day 10: A Book That Reminds You of Home
AKA: "Nostalgia Book". And I just recently finished a book that gave me the warmest, most fuzziest feelings of nostalgia: Neil Gaiman's "The Ocean at the End of the Lane". What a sweet, charming little book! (Though I'm stunned that it's considered a full-blown "novel" - should a book that's less than 300 pages be a novella or a novelette??) After the mediocrity of "Arclight", I was beginning to wonder if I even liked to read anymore (which is a Big Deal because I've been reading since 2nd at least). Fortunately, I discovered Neil Gaiman and books like this made me A) fall in love with reading again and B) made me think fondly of my childhood.
(And C) made me contemplate that maybe I'm "too old" for YA, but that's another story.)
