The Two Towers - J.R.R. Tolkien

Earlier in the trilogy, I was kinda upset because Sam looked like comic relief, a goofy buffoon. Sean Astin did such a great job with his character, I was insulted when the source material seemed to be treating him like a dolt.

Thank GOD this book within a book within a book shows a much better Sam! He's truly kick @$$ - no, he doesn't know everything, but he's devout, strong-willed, brave, courageous, and basically everything that Sean Astin portrayed him as.
